Chris Heugel came to the Chamber from The Boulevard Inn and Bistro as General Manager after serving on the board of directors for several years. Chris spent nearly 20 years in the hospitality industry in several capacities. He has been a resident of Southwest Michigan for the past 13 years. Over the years, Chris has been an active volunteer in the community, including current board member and Past Chair of St. Joseph Today, current member of and Past President of the St. Joseph Kiwanis Club, current board member of the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen and current Chair of the Silver Beach Shadowland Operating Committee. Chris has two adult sons and resides in St. Joseph, MI.

Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, Sarah joins the Cornerstone Chamber after 16 years in the Media industry. It was her time in radio that she credits with discovering her passion for non-profits; past roles include past Board Chair for 100 Women Strong, a member of the Executive Committee for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Luncheon in St. Joseph, as well as involvement with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In addition to working for Cornerstone Chamber, she is finishing her BA in Professional Communications, focusing on Marketing at Siena Heights University. When not working or studying, you’ll catch Sarah enjoying baseball, football, or just simply relaxing with family and friends somewhere in Southwest Michigan.
Susan D. Solon
Director of Member Services
Susan joins the Chamber team after 20 years of employment with the City of St. Joseph as Director of Communications and Marketing. In addition, Susan served as Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Director. Several noted accomplishments during Susan's tenure with the City of St. Joseph include annual public art displays, assisting with a $2 million fundraiser for the renovation and restoration of the St. Joseph Lighthouses, initiation and involvement in the Community Showcase as part of KitchenAid's Senior PGA Tournament, as well as ensuring safety and cohesiveness between event organizers and city staff for the many special events held each year. President Heugel notes, "My experience working with Susan, both through City Hall and St. Joseph Today, has allowed me to see firsthand her passion and love for Michigan's Great Southwest. Her energy and enthusiasm are highly contagious; she pours her heart and soul into everything she does, and for those reasons, made it an easy choice to bring her on board at the Chamber." Susan enjoys watching Tiger Woods, attending community events, traveling home to northern New York State, and playing poker with friends and family. She and her life partner, Ray, live in St. Joseph.
